Track – Currently Rated Good 4

Rail – +2m from 1000m - W/Post; True Remainder.

Race 1: Sabois 2YO Handicap 1000m

We kick off with a 2YO race over the 1000m and Abshiroo currently heads the market at $2.40. Hard to have confidence in a speed map with majority of the field on debut.

Blake Says: Little interest here with majority of the field on debut, happy to watch and learn.

Lachlan Says: Nothing much interests me here. Can't give you a push for anything. Next race.

Race 2: BM 86 Handicap 1250m

We race over the 1250m here and Creativity is the current short priced favourite at $2.20. Crown Fontein and Go The Journey look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Tricky little race. Go The Journey is racing well without winning. is hard fit, can sit on the speed and prove hard to run down. Crown Fontein returns from a race in the NT, if he brings his form from last prep, he’s a big chance here. Map looks a touch tricky for Creativity but does bring the best form, the current price on offer still looks short. Staying out.

Lachlan Says: Tricky little competitive affair here. GO THE JOURNEY continues to race well without winning and CROWN FONTEIN can bounce back after a run in the NT. CREATIVITY is in the right yard but I'm not sure I want to take the shorts about it. The value for me is MAZUREK. Has had a couple of forgive runs this preparation after knuckling the start and smashing the jockey in the face last start. The horse is going better than form and runs suggest so I'm happy to nibble this one each-way at the price.

Race 3: Sabois 3YO Handicap 1300m

Race for the 3YO’s over the 1300m with Jay Jay D’ar the current $2.80 favourite. The lead looks up for grabs with Vietti, The Publikin and Klippen all capable of being prominent early.

Blake Says: Another tricky race where I have little confidence in a speed map. With a positive ride Vietti can work across to sit on the speed and prove hard to run down. Top pick but no betting interest.

Lachlan Says: ORBOST should get back here and come with a strong run late. Drops back to the 1300m with some tempo on. BOLD STAR arguably should have won last start vs MAGNA BELLA (Which won a 100k race after and then was competitive in a Proud Miss Stakes). The favourite JAY JAY D'AR ran well in an 3yo sprint at Flemington but carried just 51kg that day. Rises in weight here and happy to ignore at the shorts. ORBOST and BOLD STAR win bets for mine.

Race 4: Sabois + BM 82 Handicap 1950m

Race for the stayers over the 1950m and All Too Huiying is the current $3.10 favourite. Silent Warrior can lead with Lostarc and All Too Huiying handy.

Blake Says: Zero interest here, many queries and happy to move on to the next.

Lachlan Says: Not really sure here and not really interested to be honest. MISS IDENTIFIED is racing very well and got the job done for us last start. Probably don't want to rush into the $4.40 on offer though. No betting interest here as the favourites are all too short and the roughies are all genuine roughies! Staying out.

Race 5: BM 75 Handicap 1400m

We race over the 1400m and Victorian visitor Street Sheik currently heads the market at $3.10. Mihany and Desidero look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Street Sheik continues to race well without winning, gets the blinkers here, if they are positive from the tricky barrier, he can give them something to catch but there looks no value in the current price on offer. Handsome Return drops back to the 1400m here after racing over the 2000m last start, trialled well since his last run, with even luck from the barrier, can prove hard to hold out late. No betting interest here.

Lachlan Says: SEE ME EXCEED can be hard to catch but would win on best form. Tourneur and M. Price are a solid combination. STREET SHEIK has been runner up 9 times in 14 starts for just the one win so taking the shorts must be a concern. HANDSOME RETURN will be right in the finish with a correct ride from gate 1 but like the previous race, it's very hard to extract a value runner. CHAPEL CITY was better last start and he continues to parade well and gallop strongly Tuesday mornings but he's not bringing it out on the track Saturday. He's worth a tiny nibble at the 21s but you have to take on trust.

Race 6: BM 64 Handicap 1550m

Race over the 1550m and Sky Punch is the current favourite at $3.50. Borris In Ossory and Zanahary should set up a solid tempo here.

Blake Says: Sky Punch was dominant last start when aided by the Murray Bridge on pace bias. Finds a race with little depth but wont be getting it his own way on speed here. No interest in the current price on offer but won’t be betting against him. Staying out.

Lachlan Says: SKY PUNCH gave them a good old fashioned belting last start on a typical leader-bias Murray Bridge. He's racing well and Michael Hickmott is flying at the moment. My boy ENKI was desperately unlucky at big odds last start when never got a crack at them and was bolting through the line. He's always a chance in this grade and I'm very confident he will run well. CANFORD didn't have much luck first up when he was held up and only got going late. Drawn to do nothing and stable going well. Happy to back ENKI and CANFORD.

Race 7: BM 75 Handicap 1000m

We race over the sprint journey and Illumicon is the current short priced favourite at $2. Looks good speed here and expecting an above average tempo.

Blake Says: Illumicon was given little hope last start, forgive run. Gets the blinkers here and finds a very winnable race but the map looks tricky again, would prefer with a more positive jockey on board. Staying out.

Lachlan Says: ILLUMICON looks the best bet of the day here. Should have gone very close vs Gytrash (ran OK in a Goodwood) and then went via the cape and was caught in no-mans-land last start when dual favourite vs the very smart PARSIFAL. That was a complete forgive run and the horse can be followed up here. Vorster won't make the same mistake twice.

Race 8: BM 70 Handicap 1250m

We finish off the day with a race over the 1250m. Oh Mo currently heads an open market at $5. Looks good speed with Aussie Bob and Knotted prominent early.

Blake Says: Oh Mo is a nice type who just has a bad racing pattern, got the job done last start with the big weight and looks well suited here. There looks good pressure up front in this race, he will settle back off the fence and can have the last crack at them. Charossa resumes off a solid hit out in his only trial. Goes well fresh, can settle just off the speed and run well. Looks a good two horse play.

Lachlan Says: Good horse resumes here by the name of CHAROSSA. Stretched out to the 1900m Pt Lincoln Cup trip last prep but best form seems to be over the shorter journeys. Is a winner first up in the past and happy to be on a 1X3 play here. It's a hard race to finish to try and line up the form so happy to stick with the fresh horse with the most upside.

Blakes Overview

Best –  R8 #2 Charossa & #7 Oh Mo

Lachlan’s Overview

Best – R7 #3 Illumicon

Best Each Way – R8 #2 Charossa

Best Roughie – R2 #3 Mazurek
