It's a massive day at Randwick with four Group 1 races . The $5,000,000 Queen Elizabeth Stakes has Australian Cup winner Cascadian taking on rivals Via Sistina, Place Du Carrousel, Pride Of Jenni and Mr Brightside in what will be an amazing watch. The $2,000,000 Sydney Cup sees Circle Of Fire take on Ashrun, Athabascan, Amade and plenty of other chances. The $1,000,000 Australian Oaks has attracted a field of talented fillies with Orchestral aiming for her 6th win in a row, while in the $1,000,000 Queen Of The Turf, last years winner Atishu takes on favourite Zougotcha.
In Victoria the main meeting is at Bendigo where the Listed $200,000 Bendigo Guineas has some nice 3YOs including Roll On High, the unbeaten Sunshineinmypocket, War Machine and Wolfy.
Several interstate raiders have made the trip to South Australia for their Autumn Carnival. In the Group 3 $150,000 R N Irwin Stakes last year's winner Kallos from the James Cummings stable has returned to defend his title, and in the Group 3 $150,000 Auraria Stakes Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman have brought good fillies Mollynickers and Vivy Air.
At Ascot the main feature is the Group 2 $400,000 WATC Derby where classy filly Own The Queen should be competitive with the boys including Buckets Ridge and A Lot Of Good Men. |
