Today, Flemington has a talented field of sprinters for the Group 1 $1,500,000 Newmarket Handicap where Imperatriz is expected to extend her picket fence of wins. The Group 2 $300,000 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes over 1400m sees Rue De Royale the current favourite. In the Group 2 $300,000 Kewney Stakes at 1600m for 3YO fillies Mollynickers is the early favourite. Amenable and Berkshire Shadow head the market in the Group 3 $200,000 Shaftesbury Avenue Handicap. Lastly, the Group 3 $200,000 Matron Stakes over 1600m features some strong contenders including Eternal Flame.
At Randwick, we have the Group 1 $ 1,000,000 Randwick Guineas over 1600m which features Militarize as the early favourite ahead of Celestial Legend. The Group 1 $750,000 Canterbury Stakes at 1300m has Think About It as the clear favourite. The Group 2 $500,000 Challenge Stakes over 1000m is an exciting sprint race, with Private Eye heading the market. In the Group 2 $300,000 Reisling Stakes 1200m for 2YO fillies Too Darn Lizzie is the early favourite, while in the Group 2 Todman Stakes over 1200m for 2YO colts and geldings Straight Charge and Switzerland are both well-fancied. The Group 3 $250,000 Wenona Girl Quality over 1200m is a very open betting race and so is the Group 3 $250,000 Aspiration Quality over 1200m. |
