THE WEEK IN REVIEW 7-13 OCT

Greyhound Genius

  • Week: 29.7 units profit (118.8% POT)
  • Overall: 1016.4 units profit (13.4% POT)

Nice result Wednesday night with our one bet Cosmic Bonus winning at $2.40. A win at Dapto on Thursday night driven by Ella The Weapon at $2.20. A fill up on Friday night at Wentworth Park betting into three races and finding three winners. Shima Shine $2.70, Flying Bazza $2.35 & Get It Gizmo $2.25.

Greyhound Genius has delivered an incredible 395 units profit in just over the past 13 months.

Trial Spy

  • Week: 23.3 units profit (79.8% POT)
  • Overall: 737.2 units profit (9.7% POT)

Good day on Monday to start a big week, winners were El Mo $11.25 & Mirra Vision $4.60. Four betting races on Wednesday which resulted in four winners. Done By Me $7.15, Faretti $2.20, Special Choice $2.10 & Puissance Dusoleil $1.90. No result Thursday before a minor profit Friday night with Euro Belle scoring at $2.60. Yet another big Saturday to close out the week! Winners were Bumper Humper $14, Validation $3, Cosmic Force $2.90, Flit $2.35 & Strike $2. Balaabel ran a narrow 2nd at $4.

Trial Spy has delivered 171u profit in just over the past 15 months.

Here’s what Dean had to say:

Another big week with 23.3 units profit at 80% POT.

12 winners this week, with Bumper Humper $14, El Mo $11.25, Done By Me $7.15, Mirra Vision $4.60, Validation $3 and Cosmic Force $2.90 the main ones.

We've had 20 winners from our last 30 bets which is an excellent strike rate. As expected the better quality horses and tracks are translating to excellent results.

28.1 units profit at 43% POT so far this month.

WA Tips & Ratings

  • Week: 15.4 units profit (131.6% POT)
  • Overall: 77.8 units profit (13.4% POT)

A winning day at Bunbury on Wednesday with Flying Target saluting for us at $3.40. No result on Thursday with All Square running a narrow 2nd at $4.60. A big start to the Ascot season on Saturday betting into five races which resulted in three winners. Stratocreed $8.90, Ebony Magi $8 & Here Comes Lenni $5.30, Celebrity Queen ran 2nd at $1.90. We closed out the week in style on Sunday with Rock Mylady saluting at Geraldton paying $7.50.

NSW Tips & Ratings

  • Week: 0.8 units profit (6.1% POT)
  • Overall: 96.3 units profit (8.2% POT)

Winning day on Monday to kick off the week with Tricky Gal saluting for us at $3.25. No result at Kensington on Wednesday with all selections being disadvantaged by an on pace bias. Nice day on Thursday driven by Eveleigh at $14.05. The Patrician had no luck at $8.50. Small loss on Saturday, on a quiet betting day, Nettoyer won at $3.80, whilst Fasika ran a narrow 2nd at $4.20. We wanted to be on Master Of Wine & The Inevitable (who both won) but they didn’t get out to our required price.

Here’s what Mark had to say in his Week In Review:

Down over one unit for the week - the track at Kensington last Wednesday was far more biased to the rails than I anticipated which didn't help, Fasika was a near miss and The Inevitable and Master Of Wine didn't get to the required prices.

Kensington (Wednesday)

Mocambo - Thought this was a really solid bet - the 1800m looked suitable and he'd drawn gate one, which was a plus. Unfortunately the jockey showed no intent to make use of the gate at all and he ended up well back in a moderate pace having to make his run down the middle. Can't say it cost him the race but it certainly didn't help.

Hooray Henry - Again no intent (from the same jockey) - ended up in a terrible spot and virtually had no hope. He's certainly up to winning in this class when better suited.

Super Oasis - Tim Clark tried to find the rail on this horse but Nash Rawiller was drawn inside him and there was no way he was letting him in. As it was, she got forced to the wrong part of the track and her effort to beaten 0.6 lengths was terrific under the circumstances.

Wyong (Thursday)

Brigid Of Kildare - Had its chance, ran ok but not quite good enough on the day.

The Patrician - Was working into the race nicely when a gap closed on him on straightening. May have gone very close with a touch of luck.

Eveleigh - Perfectly ridden and won nicely at a very nice price.

Randwick (Saturday)

Quackerjack - He won first-up last preparation but raced like he was a run short on Saturday - wasn't ridden with great aggression early. Ran ok without ever looking the winner.

Sure Knee - Drew the right spot but was unsuited by the tempo and never really got into the race. I underrated the winner Greyworm, who was perfectly suited in the race.

Nettoyer - Rails-in-run trip was a bonus and was able to run on down the middle to win narrowly. She'll be even better suited if she strikes a soft track.

Amangiri - Looked to have her chance on the speed - maybe a run short?

Fasika - In a perfect world, she would have found the rails, but she had a lovely run aside from that and was beaten by a very smart horse (who I wanted to be on as well, but just fell short of the required price)

Black Magnum - Had a good run trailing the winner, didn’t finish off in the last 200m - think he's proven that he needs a soft track now.

NRL Tips

  • Week: 0.2 units profit (5.7% POT)
  • Overall: -25.0 units profit (-9.4% POT)

Minor profit in the Australia vs Fiji game on Friday night with Cody Walker scoring a try for us on the final siren. Australia just fell short of covering the 45.5 line.

Luke Murrell’s Tips

  • Week: 0.0 units profit (0.0% POT)
  • Overall: 509.0 units profit (5.0% POT)

Small loss on Monday. Winners were Cellarmaid $3, Magnetism $2.65 & Vintage Flyer $2.20, Heritage Sash ran 2nd at $2.60. A loss on Tuesday with our one bet Zebrowski running 2nd at $2.03. Great day at Kensington on Wednesday driven by Faretti at $2, EW bet Appian Way was narrowly defeated at $15. Losing day Thursday, Katona $6.55 & City Of Love $3 both ran 2nd. A loss on Friday, winners were Sophia’s Choice $5.70 & Budget King $3.60. Huge day on Saturday! Winners were Colada $24.20, Super Seth $8, Trekking $3.40, Cosmic Force $2.70, Tambo’s Mate $2.45 & Flit $2.35. Nudge ran a close 2nd at $4.20 which would have been an additional 12.6u. Losing day on Sunday to close the week, Soxagon bolted in for us at $1.50 whilst Derby Star ran 2nd at $1.60. A massive 78.6u worth of 2nds for the week.

We have had over 900 units worth of 2nd placings over the past 6 months.

John’s Analytics

Week: -2.7 units profit (-14.1% POT)

Overall: 276.4 units profit (10.5% POT)

Profitable start to the week on Monday driven by Dixon Street at $2.40, EW investment Napoleon Solo also placed for us at $6. Great result on Tuesday with our one bet Captain Crackerjak saluting at $7.30. Winning day on Wednesday thanks to Borris In Ossory getting the job done at Balaklava paying $6. No result across Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. We locked in some great prices but were unable to land the cash, Humble Pie had no luck on Saturday at $11, finished close and could have won with clear running.

Golf

  • Week: -3.3 units profit (-35.9% POT)
  • Overall: 37.0 units profit (7.4% POT)

Losing weekend, no big result but some nice top 20 collects limited the damage. The closest we came to a big result was Shubhankar Sharma finishing T7 in the Italian Open at $340.

Blackbook Bets

  • Week: -10.3 units profit (-70.5% POT)
  • Overall: 255.5 units profit (5.8% POT)

Losing day on Wednesday, Twice Forgotten got the job done for us at $3.15, EW bet Liberty’s Gift ran 4th at $6.60. No result Friday before a losing day Saturday. Missile Mantra went agonisingly close, going down by a nose at $9.50. Each way bet Athiri ran 4th at $7.40. Not the best of luck on the day with runners getting back in slow tempo races. Minor loss on Sunday with our one bet being strongly backed but performing under par.

Blackbook Bets has delivered 40 units profit at 19.4% POT over the past 24 weeks.

Dean’s Tips

  • Week: -15.0 units profit (-38.2% POT)
  • Overall: 699.7 units profit (7.6% POT)

Small loss to open the week on Monday with Maxbux running 2nd at $24.75. No result Wednesday before a loss on Friday. Rapido Chaparro scored for us at $2.40 but Let’s Rebelle $6.70 & Who’s Knocking $8.15 both ran 2nd. Losing day Saturday, winners on a busy day were Fierce Impact $18, The Chosen One $7.30, Nettoyer $3.90 & Asiago $3. Missile Mantra $9.50, Manicure $4.20 & The Velvet King $3.10 all ran unlucky/narrow 2nds (12.9u worth). Minor loss on Sunday, Tavisan got the job done for us at $4.20.

Dean’s Tips has made 69 units profit at 17.6% POT over the past 20 weeks.

Here’s what Dean had to say:

Luckless start to October. After 85u profit at 28% POT from June to September, October has been lean down 22u. But still 63u profit since June.

This week was the perfect example of variance.

On Monday, Maxbux ran 2nd at $25.

On Friday we bet into 3 races and Who's Knocking $8.10, Morton's Fork $7.10, Let's Rebelle $6.70 all ran 2nd. Each way bet Fastquest at 150/1 ran 4th beaten in a photo for 3rd at $26 place. Total of 26.4 units there gone begging with the three 2nds and a 4th.

On Saturday we had some nice winners with Fierce Impact $18, The Chosen One $7.30, Nettoyer $3.90 & Asiago $3. However Missile Mantra $9.50, Manicure $4.20 & The Velvet King $3.10 all ran unlucky/narrow 2nds, another 12.9u worth.

During the period Dean's Tips made 85u profit, my other service Trial Spy was fairly flat, but Trial Spy has made 28u profit at 43% POT this month whereas Dean's Tips has regressed, so it just goes to show that variance occurs from time to time, but take the long term mindset and everything always turns back in our favour.

Total Team Profit: 38.1 units profit (13.4% POT)
