Race 1: Sabois 2YO BM 64 Handicap 1050m
Lake District Girl is a speedy type who did enough in her first prep contesting some strong 2YO races, finds a suitable race here resuming, leads and should prove hard to catch. Invincible Fille was a good winner on debut, must step up here again but commands respect. Gytrash looks a nice type, trialled well leading up to this, might be outclassed here but he is in for a good prep.
No betting interest here to kick off the day.
Race 2: BM 82 Handicap 1600m
Miss Siska is flying, dominant winner last start in easier grade, finds a winnable race, should settle on the speed, and prove hard to catch. Red Choux’s had every chance last week when winning at Sandown, had favours but was strong through the line, big player here. Mr Gustavo comes through some nice races and can run well here.
2.5 units – Miss Siska @ $2
Race 3: BM 64 Handicap 1600m
Nistaan comes here from Victoria for the McEvoy stable, did enough last start when fought on well sitting on the speed, settles on the speed here and gets Kah on, must be respected. Rothmoore is flying, needs luck with his racing pattern but if there is speed on here, he will be charging at them late. Storm Harbour can improve up in distance.
1 unit – Rothmoore @ $5.50
Race 4: BM 90 Handicap 1200m
Man From Uncle has only been OK since coming to the Weir stable, should continue to improve and finds a very winnable race here, should find a nice spot in transit, big hope. Go The Journey is as honest as they come, should kick up and lead here and give a good sight. So You Too is flying, looks to get a soft run in transit here and should be strong late.
Many queries here, staying out.
Race 5: BM 70 Handicap 2018m
Mussoorie Magic is going well, got the job done here last start and finds a similar race here after a 4 week break, positive jockey change, goes back from the barrier and should be hard to hold out late. Star Patriot is racing well without winning, looks to map well here and should be amongst the finish. Danouli broke through for a deserved win last start, can’t knock winning form in a race of this nature.
Tough race, staying out.
Race 6: Lightning Stakes 1050m
Nature Strip has been impressive in both wins since transferring to the Weir stable, this is tougher but looks up to it. Sunlight is an exciting Filly returning from a great first prep, has trailled well and looks a big chance of knocking off Nature Strip. Two horse race, hard to split them, won’t be betting but should be a great race.
Race 7: BM 70 Handicap 1200m
Choisborder is going well for the Weir camp, was only OK last start but gets a big positive jockey, must be respected. Buck Bay had no luck last start but does need to improve his racing manners, if he can settle here will be hard to hold out late. Red White and Blue was strong in both wins last prep, has to step up once again here, looks the leader, can give a sight.
Very tough race, no betting interest.
Race 8: BM 75 Handicap 1050m
Nodoubtaboutit did enough first up I thought, loves it here at Morphettville, goes well 2nd up and loves a soft track, can hopefully settle a bit closer from the good barrier, looks hard to beat. Bella Vino put in a big effort last start, was the only runner to make ground from worse than midfield, looks suited here. Barood was good when winning first up, goes well 2nd up, commands respect.
1.5 units – Nodoubtaboutit @ $7
1.5 units – Bella Vino @ $7.50
