Race 1: Sabois 3YO BM 70 Handicap 1100m
We kick off the day with a sprint for the 3YO’s. Victorian visitor Write Enuff is the current $1.95 favourite. Doesn’t look too much pressure with Exalted Maxine the likely leader.
Blake Says: Write Enuff resumes after contesting some strong races last prep. Looked very good in its trial and should prove very hard to beat here. Dancer’s Kin is a consistent type resuming, has trialled nicely and the stable is going well. Exalted Maxine comes off some nice wins at the home track, this is much tougher.
Lachlan Says: Prepared to take on the favourite here and back EXALTED MAXINE. Sat 3-4 wide the trip last start and absolutely bloused a decent horse In WHITE KAPS at Murray Bridge. WRITE ENUFF has solid form lines in better company but happy to risk first up. Back EXALTED MAXINE for a win.
Race 2: 4UP BM 70 Handicap 1050m
Another race for the sprinters and a new addition to the Clarken stable, Chevaux is the current favourite at $2.35. Miss Labelle should work across to lead with White Kaps also prominent early.
Blake Says: Chevaux is a very interesting runner first up for the Clarken stable who have a great record with these tried horses, big market watch. Miss Labelle is racing well, should work across to lead here and give a sight.
Lachlan Says: Depending on how EXALTED MAXINE goes in the first it can lead you into having something each-way on WHITE KAPS here. On his day he’s pretty nippy and the claim for Caserta helps. IDATWO was excellent first up, may have 2nd up syndrome after such a long lay off but if he’s at his best he can win. Maybe small bets on WHITE KAPS and IDATWO.
Race 3: BM 70 Handicap 2000m
Race for the stayers here and Light The Waves has opened up a $3.30 favourite. Pass The Glass and Lostarc look the main speed engaged.
Blake Says: No betting interest at all here, staying out.
Lachlan Says: Not really interested in betting into this race. LIEDER is working up to somewhere near his best form so if you are desperate for a bet then possibly have a 1x3 but it’s not a betting race for me.
Race 4: BM 90 Handicap 1200m
Back to the sprint journey and Al Passem opens up favourite for the Ken Keys stable at $2.70. Go The Journey looks the leader with Al Passem handy.
Blake Says: Al Passem resumes after contesting some strong races last prep. Trialled nicely, will be better over further but finds a very winnable race here first up. One More Daisy is racing well without winning, with luck will be hitting the line well late.
Lachlan Says: Another race I don’t really want to get involved in. All have genuine winning claims. Tempts Voleur is likely to inject the speed in it which will set things up for a horse and jockeys pattern of ONE MORE DAISY/KAYLA CROWTHER. It’s sure to be flying late. Have something on that each-way if you are desperate for a bet.
Race 5: BM 75 Handicap 1600m
Race over the mile here and the current favourite is Naseeb at $3 after having no luck at all last start. Saturday Sorcerer looks the leader with Big Call and Yankee Eyes working across to be handy.
Blake Says: Naseeb clearly should have won last start, finds another very winnable race here but gets barrier one again. Will need plenty of luck in running but is still the top pick. Id be all over it if he had drawn a mid to wide barrier.
Lachlan Says: Pretty keen on NASEEB here. Moral beaten last time out when cluttered for room and still came at the finish. Genuine racehorse who loves the track/trip. Drawn well. Pretty confident it will win.
Race 6: TAB Cinderella Stakes 1050m
Good race for the 2YO’s, Movie Role the current favourite at $5 in what is a wide open market. Hard to have a lot of confidence in the speed map but there looks good pressure up front.
Blake Says: Zero betting interest here with majority of the field coming over from interstate, watch and learn race.
Lachlan Says: Although a feature event with plenty of value to be found, I can’t get involved with 2yo racing. Your guess is as good as mine. Will be completely staying out.
Race 7: Lord Reims Stakes 2600m
Feature race for the stayers who are looking towards the Adelaide Cup. Bondeiger is the current favourite at $2.80. Wasabi Bob looks to get a soft lead rising in distance.
Blake Says: Don’t like to get involved in these staying races and that wont change here, too many unknowns.
Lachlan Says: If the best BONDEIGER rocks up then it wins. Can be a bit of a “gunna” so happy to risk at the price but the win wouldn’t shock. SLYPHEED is in a very astute staying camp and respect it at the each-way quote. It’s a tricky race to assess with scattered form lines so will be leaving alone.
Race 8: BM 70 Handicap 1200m
We close out the day with an open race over the 1200m, Behave who is on the one week back up is the current favourite at $3.70. Looks good speed with Paseeto, By The Pound and Tambang Besi all prominent.
Blake Says: Have always had some time for Kabini, she’s going well. Comes out of a strong race last start, blinkers go on here, should settle just off the speed and run well. Behave has ran well in both of her runs for the Clarken stable, gets a negative jockey change here. Raging Queen is still very green but has talent, settles back here and if they overdo it up front, she will be hitting the line well late.
Lachlan Says: Another tricky one to end the day. Leaning towards FRANCE’S BOY at the big price. Racing well this preparation and has form lines around some handy enough horses. Stepping back up to the 1200m looks ideal and will get a cozy look at things from barrier 4. Sure, to look a chance in the final furlong.
