Morphettville Parks Preview 16-Mar-19

Track – Currently Rated Good 4

Rail – Out 4m.

Race 1: Sabois 3YO BM 70 Handicap 1000m

Small field over the 1000m to start the day and Schilldora is the current short priced favourite at $1.55. Viduka and Heaven’s Deal look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Schilldora clearly brings the best form to this race and should get a lovely run just off the speed, clearly the one to beat but the market agrees.

Lachlan Says: Pretty confident that SCHILLDORA kicks off the day a big winner. Scratched on Cup day for this event. Should be able to position wherever Toeroek wants her to be and simply prove too good. $1.50 is short enough so perhaps play her in some all ups?

Race 2: Sabois 2YO Maiden Plate 1000m

Race for the 2YO’s over the 1000m and Biscara is the current favourite at $2.10. There doesn’t look a whole lot of speed with Inciter expected to find the front.

Blake Says: Zero betting interest here with a couple of unseen debutants involved, watch and learn.

Lachlan Says: Another 2YO watch job here. The form of BISCARA obviously stacks up well but wouldn't back it with stolen money vs some unknown babies. Looking forward to seeing what JOURNICA can do for Gordon Richards as I had worked with the dam MONICA KATE. She was a good mare on her day. Staying out.

Race 3: Maiden Plate 1250m

Maiden over the 1250m and its an open market with Big Buds the current favourite at $3.70. Big Buds should kick up to lead in a race where there doesn’t look a whole lot of speed.

Blake Says: Weak race, Cazabillie was originally with Will Clarken, then switched stables for one run and now is back with the Clarken yard. I thought it was a solid run on debut, it never really to comfortable in the run, but was still game enough to stick on strongly after sitting off the fence on a day where there was a massive advantage to be on the rails in run. Finds a race here with little depth, gets a positive jockey change and can settle up towards the speed, big improver.

Lachlan Says: Another tricky race with plenty of unknowns and scattered form lines. Will be looking at the performance of SCOUT'S HONOUR to tie in with a horse I am keen on in R8, MASTER CHUM to get a guide on it's potential efforts later in the day. Another stay out job but SCOUT'S HONOUR 1x3 if you are desperate for a bet.

Race 4: Sabois 3YO BM 70 Handicap 1400m

Good race for the 3YO’s and Unfair Dismissal is the current favourite at $2.70. Magnetic Rose and Unfair Dismissal look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Good race with some promising types engaged. Unfair Dismissal is a deserved favourite coming off a nice trial but not a race I’m overly keen to bet in with so many resumers, I expect the form out of this race to hold up strongly though.

Lachlan Says: UNFAIR DISMISSAL looks pretty hard to ignore first but happy to be on ICE GHOST here at the each-way play. Thought it was a good effort first up when ground home for 3rd. 1400m suits here and times match up with the favourite. Each-way all day.

Race 5: 4UP BM 70 Handicap 1400m

Race over the 1400m and we have another short priced favourite in Paseeto at $2.05. There doesn’t look much speed at all here so early tactics will be interesting.

Blake Says: Zero interest in this race. Staying out.

Lachlan Says: PASEETO looks well placed 3rd up from a decent break to win here in Adelaide. Has run extremely well in a G3 Carbine Club back in 2017. Tricky draw but the claim helps and Justin Huxtable reads the first part of races really well and will be sure to have him in the correct position. If he's at near his best, he wins. SILENT ICE has been racing in career best form but has been up for some time now. Backing PASEETO.

Race 6: Mares BM 80 Handicap 1300m

Another small field over the 1300m and the current favourite is Nodoubtaboutit at $3.40 coming off some Melbourne runs. There looks some pressure up front with Pamela Joy, Fay’s Joy and Lucky Flipper all looking to be up on the speed.

Blake Says: Tricky race. On paper it looks like there will be a genuine tempo which could set it up for La La Luchie dropping back to the 1300m off a six week break in between runs. Top pick but no interest in the current price on offer.

Lachlan Says: MISS IANO is the favourite and brings bizarre form lines to get confident. A 5th on a heavy track in a Dane Ripper at Doomben then followed up by a duck egg in a Hobart WFA. Will be backing NODOUBTABOUTIT here. Nice draw, electric turn of foot when right and just a good honest City performer.

Race 7: BM 70 Handicap 1950m

Race for the stayers and Light The Waves has opened up favourite at $2.70. Saturday Sorcerer will lead from the inside gate and should ensure a solid tempo.

Blake Says: A race with little depth. Light The Waves looks the only runner with any possible upside but steps up to the 1950m for the first time, will settle back and need some luck in running. Top pick but no betting interest.

Lachlan Says: The old boy SATURDAY SORCERER looks ready to strike 3rd up with the nice claim for Jordjso. Has been specked at big prices both runs this prep and condition has just given out the last furlong. Fitter now, will lead and give a great sight at a price.

Race 8: BM 64 Handicap 1250m

We finish off with a race over the 1250m and it’s a wide open market with Two Odd Sox and Master Chum currently equal favourite’s at $5.50. La Magique, Autumn Street and By The Pound all should be prominent early and ensure a solid tempo.

Blake Says: Master Chum was very good last start, running on strongly late at Murray Bridge after missing the start against a strong on pace/rails bias. Finds a very winnable race here, will need luck with his racing pattern but there looks solid speed here and he can prove hard to hold out late.

Lachlan Says: MASTER CHUM is the horse I am keen on here. Beaten favourite at Murray Bridge last start but had to sail down the outside late when the track was a clear leader-bias. Sectionals were great. Lightly raced horse for a country trainer but I think it's got some sort of future. Best bet to bring us home.
